Friends of Scioto Brush
Creek Annual Meeting Set for Saturday, February 19
February 2011
Between
the snow and bitter temperatures that 2011 has brought, getting
outdoors to enjoy Scioto Brush Creek is the last thought on most
people's minds.
Despite the nasty weather, however, you can still enjoy Scioto
Brush Creek and not have to brave the cold.
On Saturday, February 19 at 10:00 AM, the Friends of
Scioto Brush Creek will meet at the Rarden Community Center to
host our Fifth Annual Meeting and Potluck Dinner.
Join your friends and neighbors to learn more about
Scioto Brush Creek and meet other member interested in
preserving the natural resource.
Through the hard work and dedication of a number of volunteers,
the Friends of Scioto Brush Creek have experienced another
successful year, pushing toward our mission of helping maintain
the water quality of Scioto Brush Creek through education,
awareness and the involvement of local residents.
Events like Scioto Brush Creek Day and the Rarden
Whitetail Deer Festival have helped our group make residents
aware of the significance of the stream, while activities such
as the Scioto Brush Creek Sweep and Adopt a Highway Program have
gotten many of us involved in improving the stream and its water
quality. Bring your
favorite covered dish and enjoy the program as we highlight our
accomplishments and recognize this year's Best Friend of Scioto
Brush Creek.
Mark you calendars and plan to attend this year’s gathering as
we plan to kick-off another successful year with good food,
camaraderie, and fun. Details about this year's
speaker will be confirmed soon. Check back or call (740)
259-9231 for details.
